Overview

This position offers a variety of opportunities to perform basic tasks in support of Records and Information Management, Information Governance, and Document Management.  Activities can include but are not limited to document indexing, developing a file plan, and auditing records retention practices.  

This position will be responsible for a time-based project that advances Southern Star’s Records and Information Management capabilities. Time will be split between shadowing experienced staff and performing independent work. A summary presentation of the project will also be developed and delivered to senior company leadership. This position may include networking opportunities with staff and other interns.

A taxable housing stipend may be provided to obtain housing near the Southern Star work location if the successful candidate’s permanent home address and current college address is determined by Southern Star to be greater than reasonable driving distance from the assigned work location.

This is a paid summer internship.  Summer internships are 12-weeks in length and start no earlier than May 2022, and end no later than August 2022.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with administration of physical records program
  • Handle confidential, privileged, and/or proprietary records, physical and electronic, appropriately
  • Occasionally lift and move boxes weighing up to 50 pounds

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Must be 18 years of age by the start of the summer internship assignment and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75 after each completed semester/term.
  • Must be a US Citizen or US Person
  • Candidate must be in their second year of Records Management, Information Governance, Library Science, or related studies
