In this role, you will be responsible for providing advanced-level, professional Human Resources support with minimal supervision in the areas of compensation, compliance, labor/employee relations, organizational design/development, policy administration, and drug/alcohol testing.   Knowledge of our company’s goals and analysis of internal and market data is used to guide every aspect of our compensation.  This position works with all departments and leaders of the company.


What you will be doing:

  • Develops, plans, administers, coordinates, and implements research, analysis, recommendations, reports, and support at high levels in main areas of focus-compensation and compliance.
  • Collects and analyzes data to identify trends and metrics and report, makes recommendations based thereon.
  • Oversees salary administration, conducts classification and job description reviews, participates in compensation surveys, and conducts market and other relevant data analysis.
  • Provides high-level expertise, including research, analysis, development, maintenance, advice, reporting, auditing and presentations, in compensation, organizational design/development, employee engagement, wellness, drug and alcohol testing, compliance, internal investigations, and unemployment compensation.
  • Integral team member during union investigations, including management of documentation and requests from union.
  • Conducts data and cost analyses to be used in employee negotiations and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Provides policy and procedure creation, editing, guidance, interpretation, amendment, and instruction.
  • Prepares, files internal/external reports, position statements, processes confidential forms and records.
  • Responds to unemployment compensation claims, etc.
  • Supports a variety of employment activities.
  • Remains knowledgeable regarding applicable federal and state laws and regulations and ensures compliance with the same.
  • Provides information to internal/external customers and serves as the initial point of contact for HR questions and issues in areas of focus.
  • Reviews and updates corporate intranet in functional area(s).
  • Implements departmental and individual strategies and goals.
  • Provides suggestions for modified and/or additional departmental services, policies, procedures.
  • May lead or direct work of others on specific projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.


The successful candidate will have: 


  • Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Human Resources professional providing guidance and counsel in compensation, federal/state/company and policy/procedure compliance.
  • Experience analyzing data, preparing reports, statements, projections, and market trends.
  • Knowledge of HR systems, job codes, and salary tables.


  • Bachelor’s degree in business related field.
  • Experience in mid-size (600+) employee organization with geographically dispersed offices.
  • Experience applying applicable HR-related laws and regulations.
  • Experience in a unionized business setting.
