This position provides high level administrative and analytical support and is responsible for ensuring that appropriate contracts are placed to support Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline (“SSCGP”) objectives in risk management while contributing to other objectives such as safety, quality, and cost control. The Contracts Analyst will maintain a growing portfolio of Master Agreements including Master Service Agreements (“MSA”), Master Purchase Agreements (“MPA”), and Limited Service Agreements (“LSA”) that will support a broad supply base for capital expansion projects, minor capital projects, and active operating assets. Under the direction of the Manager, Contracts, the Contracts Analyst will partner with business unit managers and operators to establish contract strategies, assist in development of work scopes, and ensure proper reviews are conducted by internal stakeholders. Further responsible for making suggestions to update and improve the overall system process. The Analyst role takes on more of a strategic role in the development, maintenance, and establishment of strategic contracting in support of larger enterprise efforts.


Primary responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • General overseeing of all contract administration functions
  • Working closely with various stakeholders to ensure all details are covered in Contracts, Agreements, and Terms & Conditions (such as Master Service Agreements). Details include: obligations of the parties, internal stakeholder review, work scope and description, qualifications, insurance requirements, claims and disputes, with final review and approval conducted by the Manager, Contracts.
  • Coordinating with legal, tax, accounting, insurance and other departments to structure, create, or modify contracts and agreements as required
  • Managing the accuracy and integrity of record keeping and transactions
  • Playing a critical role in managing the integrity and record keeping of all agreements
  • Working closely with Company personnel to resolve problems related to contractual management software issues
  • Working together with Records and Information Management (“RIM”) to store or digitize contracts
  • Ensuring all contractual obligations of the parties are maintained including, but not limited to Certificates of Insurance (“COI”), Safety Statistics, Unit Rates, and Operator Qualifications
  • Supporting Finance and Accounting (“F&A”) for invoice and Contract reconciliations
  • Reviewing complex solicitations and prepares specialized and/or non-routine response for proposals, bids, and contract modifications
  • Assuring accuracy and appropriateness of contract text and attachments
  • Managing the process flow for all incoming and pending contracts including the pre-qualification process
  • Modifying contractual requirements (e.g., Audit Insurance, etc.)
  • Assisting with non-standard agreement reviews and negotiations
  • Training personnel regarding policies, processes, procedures related to Contracts Administration
  • Other duties as assigned and deemed necessary by Manager, Contracts



  • Bachelor’s degree, or combination of education and experience
  • Entry-level to 3 years of contract administration experience, or related experience
  • Experience with and ability to communicate basic differences in contract language
  • Strong customer service and communications skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with others
  • Advanced experience in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) or related software
  • Ability to learn and navigate different software applications


  • Experience with contract software and insurance certificates
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Accounting, or relevant subjects
  • Knowledge of oil and gas, construction related products and services
  • Paralegal Certificate and/or experience in the Legal, Insurance, or contractor Compliance Fields
