Designer

This position reports to the Leader, Drafting and Surveying, and provides drawings and maps for Engineering projects as well as those required by various company projects. Drawings and maps, produced using AutoCAD and Civil 3D software packages, provide information for bid and construction projects, to obtain regulatory permits, and to document the completed construction projects. (Job placement will be consistent with experience, and all skill levels meeting or exceeding Minimum Qualifications shall be considered.)

Primary responsibilities include (but not limited to):

• Provide technical support to project engineers by creating designs based on engineering scopes and specifications
• Prepare detailed drawings in accordance with company standards, procedures, and specifications for use in the modification or construction of natural gas compressor stations, meter & regulation facilities, valve settings, and catcher & launcher facilities
• Communicate with Engineers, Project Managers and Field Technicians to determine drawing requirements, obtain technical advice, report status, and establish priorities
• Ability to work well in teams and independently
• Estimate time required to complete work assignments
• Provide lower classification drafters with project support

Minimum:

• Associate's Degree or a technical school diploma in technical or related field or equivalent work experience as determined by the company.
• Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrated problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with pipe materials, BOMs, and TIFF images
• Minimum of 1-year experience in Design as a CAD Drafter
• Knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D systems

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s Degree in technical field or a 4-year technology degree
• Knowledge of Mapping & Piping Design is desired
• Knowledge of Mechanical Design is a Plus+
• Experience in Natural Gas Industry is also desired
• 3 years’ experience in Design or 5+ years’ experience in Design as a CAD Drafter
• Strong knowledge of Civil 3D / AutoCAD systems is desired
