Overview

This position is responsible for the direction and oversight of Company’s IT Infrastructure and provides overall leadership, implementation of strategies, and supervisory oversight. The employee will analyze, propose, oversee the development and implementation of, update and maintain, educate, and report on the effectiveness of strategies, processes, goals, and policies in the IT Infrastructure area. Review changes to policies and procedures for consistency with industry standards and their compliance with government regulations. Will maintain awareness of the most current technology and equipment advances through research, training, and participation in industry associations. Oversee training programs to enhance skills and technical competence of personnel. Represent IT Infrastructure interests to other managers and upper management as well as other duties as required and assigned.

Responsibilities

Leadership Specific:

  • Personally accountable for performance of employees in reporting area and achievement of area’s goal and strategies and teach employees in area to be likewise personally accountable
  • Demonstrate organization’s leadership skills and traits as outlined
  • Serve as role model for Company’s Guiding Principles and actively and vocally exhibits behaviors which champion its Vision and Mission
  • Ensure alignment of department goals and activities with corporate Vision, Mission, goals, and strategies
  • Engage in regular, consistent performance management, including coaching, teaching, appraising, and mentoring
  • Execute staff growth plans

Position Specific:

  • Partner with other departments to provide technical solutions and process improvements
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, policies, and procedures within area
  • Focus on cost control to create value
  • Review and approve assigned controls for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
  • Assist with development, implementation and management of IT departmental vision, purpose, strategy, and programs
  • Manage risks and business impacts of privacy laws and policies related to personal and financial information
  • Provide consultative support to other departments
  • Develop relationships with customers for the purpose of ensuring goals are being met
  • Maintain knowledge of departmental systems, data, and processes and apply that knowledge to developing strategic plans and policies
  • Perform employee performance appraisals and coach employees to gain efficiencies, to prepare for added responsibilities and ensure succession planning is in place
  • Determine directions related to new innovations and products
  • Account for company Expense and Capital related budget and forecasting for specific area

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure
  • Experience leading large Infrastructure projects
  • Experience with work and change management systems
  • Valid driver’s license and insurability
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lead technical staff
  • Ability to teach area of expertise one-on-one and in small groups
  • Ability to budget and forecast expense and capital
  • Ability to work with others throughout the organization
  • Ability to research, understand, and make recommendations to improve IT Infrastructure systems
  • Basic understanding of the regulatory environment in which the Company operates

 

Preferred:

  • Masters or other advanced degree with a major in business, communications, or information system
  • 2+ years of experience at the senior level
