Overview

This position works, with supervision, on assignments of moderate difficulty. Works with a wide cross-section of the company to ensure FERC compliance associated with pipeline projects while also meeting project timelines. Assists Regulatory team with analytical work related to preparation of certificate applications and annual reports to be filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). Assists Regulatory team with filing weekly/quarterly FERC environmental/construction reports. Assists Regulatory team with analytical work relating to FERC compliance and Customer Service Innovations system (CSI) postings. Assists Regulatory team with job approvals and correct assignment of FERC citation codes as well as Authorization for Work approvals. This position will work closely with other departments such as Commercial Services, IT, Legal, Finance and Accounting, Billing & Measurement, Operations and Project Delivery in performing the job responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Primary resoponsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Assist in preparation and review of certificate filings and annual reports filed with FERC
  • Research FERC filings, orders, and policies
  • Assist in monitoring activity at FERC, including other pipeline proceedings, to identify any decisions or issues which might affect current or future Company proceedings
  • Assist in the review of regulatory processes related to FERC, company tariff provisions and project work
  • Attend industry meetings and seminars
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of FERC regulations and compliance
  • Perform special projects assigned by management
  • Assist with the preparation of data requests related to certificate filings or other FERC inquiries
  • Review work product of other team members within the department All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Entry level experience in the natural gas industry
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to handle all ranges of interactions with customers
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Grammatically correct written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop a comprehensive understanding of the gas industry and pipeline facilities
  • Ability to develop a comprehensive understanding of pipeline tariff, services and specific FERC regulations  
  • Ability to use various computer applications such as Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint, as well as the company’s customer service system
  • Ability to work cooperatively with people across the organization and as a member of a team
