Overview

The Analyst III, Financial Process is responsible for supporting finance & accounting processes and systems-related initiatives, including but not limited to implementing new technology and processes to advance finance & accounting capabilities, leading financial technology upgrade projects and related process improvements, working through technology integration activities for financial systems, providing ongoing training and support for accounting processes and financial systems currently in place, and identifying the current and future needs of the finance and accounting functions. 

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Manage projects and process improvements by applying change management experience to facilitate professional, relevant, and verified outcomes or products 
  • Promote/encourage cross-functional participation, and steer proactive efforts to cultivate a corporate culture of continuous improvement
  • Take action that is consistent with available facts, constraints and risks to establish project plans and warrant adherence to rigorous specifications and deadlines
  • Collaborate openly with various customers and peers to accomplish project, department, and company goals 
  • Recommend process/customer service improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or major variations from established policy, which must include qualitative and quantitative implications to the company and be approved by appropriate leadership prior to implementation
  • Assist in the review, testing and implementation of financial system upgrades or updates
  • Standardize the processes and procedures for all financial application system changes by documenting testing templates, responsible owners, and results prior to implementation
  • Provide production support, including research and resolution of problems, unexpected results, identified process flaws, conduct scheduled activities, recommend solutions or alternative methods to meet the business needs
  • Write, maintain, and support a variety of reports and queries utilizing available reporting tools while ensuring the results reconcile to historically provided financials.
  • Routinely schedule company-wide training opportunities for currently deployed applications
  • Educate business end-users on new and/or previously underutilized functionality by documenting and providing real-time support
  • Participate in user group meetings/conferences

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years’ relevant work experience
  • Experience using structured and unstructured data and statistical tools to provide insight
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Robust ability to effectively present information to internal clients
  • Strong ability to simplify complex concepts targeting the appropriate audience
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain successful working relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Valid driver’s license

 

Preferred:

  • Experience working in an environment exposing the candidate to project management, process improvement system development, training and/or change management
  • Experience working with all levels of an organization within a corporate setting
