Overview

This position will perform at a high level of skill the duties required for the operation of the pipeline system, including mechanical equipment repairs, preventative maintenance efforts, and maintenance and/or operation of various types of Company property. Other responsibilities include performing housekeeping throughout reporting location and performing pipeline repair and fabrications.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include (but not limited to):

 

Technical Duties (with no direct supervision)

  • In-depth knowledge of operations of natural gas transmission pipeline industry and welding procedures
  • Performing assigned duties in areas of pipeline and compressor station operations and maintenance activities with a high level of skill
  • Using all applicable IT systems
  • Other duties and training as assigned

 

Compliance

  • Creating and maintaining all required documentation related to assignments
  • Maintaining proficiency in performing Operator Qualification tasks
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, Company policies and procedures (e.g., OSHA, DOT, NFPA, 70E, etc.)
  • Passing the API 1104 welding test every six (6) months

 

Training

  • Completing defensive driving
  • Maintaining first aid/CPR certification
  • Completing CBT / ExxTend Learning modules
  • Completing other coursework and/or proof of skill as required by law, regulation, or Company policy or procedure
  • Completing Safety 101 and new employee safety orientation

 

Safety

  • Participating in safety presentations
  • Effectively implementing emergency procedures
  • Understanding and using Sec 65 of the Company O&M
  • Participating in Company safety program

 

Leadership

  • Providing leadership with minimal supervision
  • Co-leading assigned projects

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • 6+ years of experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong technical knowledge and skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Maintain a DOT physical card
  • Experience in natural gas pipeline industry
  • Ability to pass API 1104 welding test
  • Must reside within a 40-mile radius of reporting location
  • Ability to work 8- or 12-hour rotating shifts (with varying days off)

 

Preferred: 

  • Bachelor’s degree, Associate degree, or two-year technical degree
