This position will be responsible for and/or assisting various activities including but not limited to, improving, and supporting pipeline operations, providing entry-level analytical and administrative support to Field Operations personnel and others, and providing administrative support for Field Operations. This position applies strong analytical and computer skills to work in Field Operations. The position works across multiple departments and groups to increase system efficiency and effectiveness through analytics. The position will require an analytical and data driven mind-set to produce results.
Employee will provide specialized knowledge in the effective completion of projects, work assignments, and data mining. This analyst position will plan and conduct work requiring independent evaluation and assume responsibility for projects outcomes. Employee will assist in implementation of departmental and capital budgets as well as provide administrative assistance. This position may be required to mentor and direct the work of others.
This position provides high level administrative and analytical support within Facilities Services and performs general facilities functions related to the daily operations of all Southern Star locations. The position facilitates day-to-day communications with Southern Star offices, field personnel, and external contractors to ensure projects are written and implemented successfully. The Analyst, Facilities Services partners with department leadership to identify, prioritize, and make recommendations to leadership for facilities maintenance, renovations, and construction projects. This position will monitor and assist in budgetary direction and industry, state, and federal requirements regarding facilities projects. Under the direction of the Leader, Facilities Services, this position will steer the current and future needs of the company’s facilities to best standardize and provide adequate facilities and support for Southern Star’s operations across our entire footprint.

This position reports to the Leader, Drafting and Surveying, and provides drawings and maps for Engineering projects as well as those required by various company projects. Drawings and maps, produced using AutoCAD and Civil 3D software packages, provide information for bid and construction projects, to obtain regulatory permits, and to document the completed construction projects. This position offers a variety of opportunities including shadowing and assisting survey team employees to gain a better understanding of pipeline surveying and the pipeline industry.
Interns will typically support one or more experienced surveyors in meeting both departmental and corporate objectives. This individual will have the opportunity to become an instrumental part of the daily operations activities, including assisting in daily activities and other projects related to surveying. This individual will participate in the performance of assignments, spend time shadowing pipeline surveyors, and have unique assignments that support larger projects as well as experience the day-to-day workings of the survey team. This includes performing site surveys, attending training sessions, and the processing and organizing of survey data in an office setting. They may perform and/or participate in additional activities/events which help them build a strong network within the Southern Star community and with fellow interns.
