This position will be responsible for various tasks in meeting the Company’s internal and external reporting and filing requirements related to the Company’s fixed assets and depreciation. Roles would include but are not limited to: the gathering of data; ensure integrity of company asset records; distribution of records; analyzing accounts; and corresponding with internal and external professionals. Reporting requirements include but are not limited to the Company’s equity investors and debt holders; and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. The position will handle a diverse range of assignments requiring the use of experience, innovation and judgment. Successful persons will plan and conduct work requiring minimum supervision while exercising latitude for unviewed decisions.
This position reports to the Controller and is responsible for the direction and oversight of the Company’s Plant and Utility Accounting Department. This position is responsible for the overall leadership, implementation of strategies, and management oversight in these areas, including compliance with related accounting regulations and work direction in the property accounting area. A significant level of technical expertise, independent thought and action, and managerial skills, are required.
The Manager, Plant and Utility Accounting analyzes and oversees 1) the classification of costs incurred in the construction, acquisition, and/or retirement of company assets included in gas plant; 2) calculation of depreciation, depletion, amortization, ARO and AFUDC related to gas plant 3) all entries recorded on the Company’s book and records for both GAAP and FERC accounting related to this area, this position is responsible for all property accounting functions of the Company. This function maintains all asset records for the Company and provides oversight of all related reporting and disclosure requirements. This function also monitors and researches proposed accounting pronouncements to assess potential impact to the Company, and develop implementation procedures for applicable standards. This position also develops and exercises key internal controls related to the property accounting function.
This position is directly responsible for the overall leadership, coordination, and evaluation of the Capacity Planning & Customer Solutions functions. Will provide leadership and direction to the personnel responsible for the capacity planning function, while responsible for leading, coordinating, and/or performing the analysis, planning, design, construction, alterations and/or operations/maintenance support of company facilities. Manager must ensure consistent application of company policy, tariff provisions, and NAESB guidelines.
This position will be responsible for preparing monthly and annual compliance reports. Must plan and conduct work requiring independent evaluation and exercises substantial latitude for unreviewed decisions. Applies specialized knowledge and experience in the effective completion of major projects and/or work assignments. Shall lead, coordinate, and/or perform a diverse range of complex assignments requiring the use of experience, innovation and judgment and/or leads teams in projects or work assignments of major scope or unusual complexity. May cross into new fields of technical specialty or leadership. Will demonstrate technical expertise and leadership in specific field. Lead, coordinate, and/or assist in preparation of testimony and exhibits for presentation to regulatory bodies and courts and represents Company at regulatory and legal proceedings. Serves as a leader in the development and implementation of technical standards and verifies that work products conform to applicable Industry, State and Federal codes and regulations.
In addition to Capacity Planning, this position is responsible for the overall leadership, management and execution of strategies for the Gas Measurement and Customer Solutions departments. These functions include, but are not limited to, the accurate and timely measurement of system volumes, system gas quality management, system loss and regulatory reporting. Attention to detail is key as the candidate will be required to work with existing customers on complex agreements and facility enhancements to meet their natural gas needs.
A great level of independent thinking and action must be maintained for the department when working with other departments while at the same time maintaining a high level of cooperation and understanding of needs from others within the Company. This includes partnering with Customer Services, Business Development, Rates, Field Measurement Services, and Commercial Compliance.
The position is expected to partner with multiple internal departments as well as working with external customers to balance requests and needs. While meeting policies and procedures on a daily basis, the incumbent must also portray a level of creativity and ingenuity to further excel the department and the Company in its competitive environment in which it exists. This position must effectively communicate the Company Vision, Mission, Goals, and Strategies to departmental personnel in additional to partnering with other departments to assist them in meeting their goals.
This position will provide high level administrative and analytical support through a multi-faceted role within Supply Chain Services that performs general supply chain functions including procurement, materials/inventory management, and master data quality management in support of SSCGP’s daily operations. Functions within this role typically include, but are not limited to, performing significant software entry in the Oracle ERP software application, including receiving, material transactions, requisitions, and performing general materials/inventory management functions that include cycle counts, asset recovery, and Master Data Governance. The position shall communicate on a daily basis with Southern Star offices and field personnel and external suppliers to resolve material related deficiencies and ensure customer satisfaction. Position will utilize financial systems and maintain electronic and paper files and records.
This position reports to the Manager, Land and Environmental and is responsible for our path to Net Zero. This position would support and lead all necessary tasks to ensure the strategic development and deployment of renewable energy and alternative fuel projects. The leader would propose and implement the necessary actions needed to promote the future renewable energy and alternative fuels (ie. Hydrogen, CO2, ect.) projects. Specifically, but not limited to, researching evolving low carbon energy technologies, conducting project development efforts such as pre-feasibility studies, project design, technoeconomic analysis, etc, and the deployment of said projects.

The Supply Chain Contract Specialist shall be responsible for the day to day performance of Contract execution, Contract bidding and awarding functions, Contract administration, and shall provide high level support for resulting Contracts. These responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to coordinating requests for quotations, facilitating and evaluating bids, initiating Contracts for various services and suppliers, negotiating Contracts and maintaining customer contact activities to provide for proper Contract execution and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements and customer specifications. The Contract Specialist shall be responsible for ensuring that appropriate contracts are placed to support Company objectives that support a broad supply base for capital expansion projects, minor capital projects, and active operating assets. Under the direction of the Manager, Contracts, the Contracts Specialist shall partner with business unit managers and operators to establish Contract strategies, assist in development of work scopes, and ensure proper reviews are conducted by internal stakeholders. Further, the Contract Specialist shall be responsible for evaluating current processes, making suggestions to update and improve system processes, and executing process improvements.
This entry-level position provides engineering direction and technical assistance for the design, development, and execution of natural gas facilities; including but not limited to: pipeline, measurement, regulation, compression, storage, and other related gas transmission and gas storage equipment and facilities while operating under routine, direct supervision of the Manager and with guidance from experienced design engineers. Performs engineering tasks and projects of lesser complexity, relying on industry code, established guidelines and/or detailed direction. Work experience and Company and industry training will familiarize employee with processes, procedures, guidelines, regulations, and policies of the Company, department, and industry. May be temporarily assigned to a structured training program designed to provide interdisciplinary experience. Recognizes economic aspects of job. Demonstrates professional conduct and business ethics. Learns practical application of education. Ability to present the results of research and analysis.

Maintain three phase electrical systems such as motors, control centers and related switchgear. Recommend and/or install electrical wiring/conduits and related facilities needed for “new” single- or three-phase electrical systems.
